    Help with spouse visa please

First of all happy new year to you all !!

Is there any one who could give me advice regarding what to do ?
My divorce should come through soon !!

I have already meet a lady from cebu !i have been over to see her twice now ,and ive known her since april last year , and we both want to get married as soon as my divorce is complete . My future wife as never been married before !!

And we have decided to apply for a spouse visa !

But im a bit lost as to what to do first !! I know ive got to get a letter to confirm that i can re marry , and money in the bank account etc , and proof of earnings and bank statements

but then what !! Yes we get married in cebu !! But then what should we do !! This is where i get lost !!

Is the spouse visa a form called vaf4a ? And is it best to do online or go to manila in person with my future wife ?
Really what im after is a step by step what to do when im over there !! And is there anything i can do before i go to philippines .

I have also read many forums !! Where many people say its a lot easier now to get visa ? Is this true , and why is it ?

Also my future wife might be expecting our baby !! If so then baby would be due in end of july !! Should i also let the visa people know about this or best not to tell them ???

So i looking forward to hear from you people for advice and steps to take !!!
Many thanks for your time len

and once again happy new year to you all at filipino uk

    heya! welcome to the forum..

first of all, congats in finding your true love...

second, please read the vfs website... it will tell you the step by step procedure on what you should do when applying for the visa. the forms and guidance notes are there as well.

third, you can answer the form online, but your spouse should still need to go to vfs manila to submit her application and documents as she will have to do her biometrics thingy.

fourth, read on previous posts here.. use the search button.. as most of your concerns have been asked and answered time and again...

    fifth, happy new year!

CRITICIZING OTHERS IS A DANGEROUS THING, NOT SO MUCH BECAUSE YOU MAY MAKE MISTAKES ABOUT THEM, BUT BECAUSE YOU MAY BE REVEALING THE TRUTH ABOUT YOURSELF.

I agree she need to go to VFS manila
She can answer the form online but most of us here printed the application form (yes its called VAF4a now)

After you got Divorce Decree Absolute you may apply CNI (Certificate of No Imepedement) in order to marry her here in Phil. and I've heard takes 21 days of waiting.

    Goodluck

You will need a Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) which you get from your local registry office (after you apply for this it takes 21 days to be released). To apply for this you will need to know lots of details about your intended like her full name, address, DOB, her parents full names etc and you will also need to know details of the intended wedding date and venue.

She will need to get a Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) and she will be the one who makes the visa application. These days this is usually done by filling in an application online and printing it off. The visa application fee must be paid into one of the British Embassy's designated Philippine banks. Then she must make an appointment at VFS in Manila http://www.vfs-uk-ph.com/ .

When you go there to get married you will need to exchange your CNI at the British Embassy in Manila for the local version. You will need to allow enough time to do this and then at least another 10 days for the waiting period for the marriage licence. When you apply for the marriage licence you will also need to bring with you both your birth certificate and your divorce decree absolute.

I understand, yes that you can change your CNI in Cebu. A member on here was enquiring about it recently.
I don't think much information was forthcoming, so whether there are any active members who have done this, I don't know?

You can exchange your CNI at the British Consulate in Cebu but it's by appointment only and I've been told by another member of this forum who's just been there, done that quite recently, that they're not very flexible or accomodating at all there, in fact I get the impression from what he said that they just can't be arsed.

At the embassy in Manila they just do it while you wait and you don't need an appointment. Wherever you choose to go, your intended will have to go with you and she will need to have her cenomar, she can get that from the Philippines NSO (National Statistics Office). I think she may also need her birth certificate.

Something else to be aware of for after your married and she has got a visa is, she will have to attend a guidance seminar at the CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) either in Cebu or Manila. If she doesn't do this and get their sticker in her passport she will not be allowed to board a plane and leave the country even though she has a valid visa. I only mention this last point because this is a very little publicised part of Philippine law and it catches out many Filipina brides and fiancees if they only find out about it a few days before their due to travel or even in some cases, when they are not allowed to board their flight.
