Hello everyone,i need help..i have resident visa in uk but leaving now in italy .the problem is when they gonna revoke my RESIDENT visa(hope not gonna happen) cause im leaving in ITALY now..and if i come back in england when i can apply for a british nationality?!!!!,,thanks for all your help.xx

why are you living in italy if you have IFR for the uk,wouldnt you be better off getting a uk passport first?

cause my husband job thats why we leaving in italy but he still working in same company back in uk,yeah i know its is hard but it is possible if i go back in uk i still can apply for british passport even though i left the uk for 5 months.

Can't answer that without more information.

Between what dates did you live in the UK? When did you get ILR (assuming that is what you have)? Are you married to a British citizen?

i only left uk 5 months ago because of my husband job and yes i am married to british have 2 kids so its really hard for me if i am going back in uk in my own with kids and left my husband in italy,,can i apply in abroad( british citizenship )cause my husband still in same company back in uk and its not my fault why i am not uk now,,,thanks

It's only possible to apply from abroad if your husband is working abroad for the UK government which I guess he isn't.

As you can see from the guidance given earlier that you should norrmally only been outside of the UK for 90 days in the last year before applying so you need to be back in the UK for at least 9 months before you can apply.

hi darren thanks for the info my husband still working in same company back in uk and still paying the tax.we want to try to apply in abroad cause its not my fault to left uk and we proof that my husband still working back in uk.thanks

I think you will be wasting your time and money as you do not meet the residental requirements. The fact your husband is paying UK tax is irrelevant, it's where you are living that matters.

your visa will not be revoked, i asked the same question to my sols before and she said if you got your resident visa and left uk for 2 years (consecutively) then you will have to re-apply for your visa to enter uk again.

Provided you are still coming back to UK for good you may apply for your citizenship. I have listed below an info I was given by my sols before:

- You must have been living in the United Kingdom at the beginning of the three-year period
- On the date that your application is received in the Home Office, you must have permanent residence (ILR) in the UK
- During the three-year period you must not have been outside the UK for more than 270 days (approximately 9 months)
- During the last 12 months of the five-year period you must not have been outside the UK for more than 90 days

I hope I was able to help. But like what other says visiting home office website would help you as well and why not send them an email? They usually respond within 72 hrs of receiving your query. Good luck

u can renew your passport at the phils embassy near you, just make sure that your old passport with ilr is attached to the new one when you travel. like what i said your ilr won't be revoked as long as you have not been away for 2 yrs consecutively. the reason why i applied for citizenship is because it saves me money and time in applying for visa (w/in europe and also in uae) nothing else; to be honest with you, rights and benefits between a citizen and a resident is just the same (except you can't vote, but would you want to cast a vote?).

thank you for the reply.. i have reason also why i want to sorted about the passport issue cause i always have a visa issue cause i am in a pilipino passport and my husband job is always out in the country ..so that means i need to stay in uk for 4 to 5 years if i am coming back soon before i can apply for british passport.hehhehe ..are you gonna vote?who is your pet in presidential candidate..regards
