We're contemplating extending the time we're in Singapore, instead of just flying straight through - but whether my wife would want to go for it (it means cutting short the visit to see the family), don't know. If we extend our stay on the way there, she'll be wanting to get it out the way to go and see her sisters - if we shorten our stay in manila to leave early and spend time in singapore, she'll feel sad we're leaving early when we could have stayed longer.
We planned singapore in 2003 (when we were living in manila) but never got round to it - malaysia and hong kong became the limit of our travels in the 3 years we were there - almost quite shamefully poor of us
