Angry VAT on Fuel / Extra Duty Scam sign petition

When VAT was temporarily reduced to 15%, the Chancellor added 2% duty to fuel to offset the reduction in tax collected from motorists. Now that VAT has been increased to 17.5% again this hidden tax has not been removed - hence recent rises in your fuel costs. Sign the petition at the link below to demand this stealth tax is removed

It wasn't hidden as you say, it was announced on all the news channels the day it happened, and we were informed of it in the previous budget.

Where do you get that from ?

As far as I'm aware VAT was reduced from 17.5% to 15% 3/12/08 the extra 2p to offset the VAT reduction went on 1/04/09 along with the annual 2p increase in duty 1/09/09. VAT went up to 17.5% 1/1/2010.

I think they should have a public enquiry about it... then they can make it last a few years, get no new relevent information, make no differance atall and pay thier lawyer mates a few million to keep them out of the the effects of the nasty recession

Our public transport is the most expensive in Europe, maybe the world as well, but is it the best?!
