Dr Jose Rizal , national hero, died a a martyr aged 35 in the last years of Spanish rule well over a century ago. He was a physician, naturalist, linguist and writer among other skills. There are several cults in his honour, claiming that one day he will return to lead his disciples to salvation. Seemingly he doesn't have too much competition, and he is on Facebook today
