The Philippines Department of Health gives a long list of diseases and health risks said to result from hot and dry weather due to the El Nino phenomenon, ironic when we in the UK are suffering our coldest winter for many years, also blamed by some on El Nino !... Myrna and I were discussing the El Nino phenomenon yesterday forenoon; indeed, she even suggested I might introduce a topic on it as, apparently, it's a climatic state with which Filipinos can readily identify.
