To be fair, England would not have qualified, not even in 1966, the only reason they did was as the "Host" Nation...
That they went on to win, was just down to other Nations abysmal bad play.

It just annoys the crap out of me,ex players rubbishing the team,next it will be the press. We don't stand a chance with all the england bashers about.
England were a decent team in 1966 and even better in 1970.
The 1990 team was decent too
