To be fair, England would not have qualified, not even in 1966, the only reason they did was as the "Host" Nation...
That they went on to win, was just down to other Nations abysmal bad play.
The only game worth of any note is the actual final of an, otherwise, easily forgettable world cup year.

But looking at the overall record where is England, compared to Italy, or even France...???
