    marriage requirements in philippines

    can anyone give me some advice regardin getting married here in the philippines?? i have already applied for my cert of non impediment, once i recieve it will we will apply for a marriage license but is there any other requirements?

    i dont need a NSO copy of my CNI do i???
    plz help

    Hi,
    You need to exchange your CNI in the embassy here in Philippines, accdg to the people here it will take 30 mins. You need also your passport , birth certifcate and divorce decree absolute. Hope it will help.. hehehhe this is their advice to me also lol goodluck

    Requirements for a Foreigner applicants for getting married here in the Philippines:
    1.) Passport I.D. - 2 xerox copies
    2.) Date of Arrival (Latest) from the passport- 2 xerox copies
    3.) Legal Capacity, issued by their diplomatic official in the Philippines- 1 original copy and 3 xerox copies
    4.) CENOMAR ( Certificate of No Marriage, issued by the NSO) - 1 original & 1 xerox copy
    5.) For Divorce Applicant - 1 original & 2 xerox copies
    6.) For widow/widower - Death Certificate of Deceased husband/wife- 1 original & 2 xerox copies.
    NOTE:
    * Appearance of both applicants is necessary in applying for marriage license
    * Marriage license Release after 10 days posting period
    *Pre-Marriage Counselling Seminar for 1 day

    Cenomar is the Philippine counterpart of CNI or legal capacity.Foreigner wants to marry in the Philippines doesnt need Cenomar.

    I didn't have any xerox copies of anything, not really a requirement.

    You need CNI from british embassy, your birth certificate and passport, divorce paper if applicable....thats the only documents we submitted when we applied for marriage license.

    my fiancee and I are planning to marry in uk this summer because marrying in the philippines souned such a long drawn out porcess and I would have to be in the country around a month.Is this correct?

    It definitely can be a long drawn out process if the marriage is done in church.
    Having a civil wedding is much less troublesome, search the internet for stories of red tape that may mean you will have to stay a long time to get everything done

    A couple of other plusses is that your wife's family will be able to be there and it will be cheaper than the UK.
    I have always felt that the wife needs her mother more than the man needs his.

    Besides, Filipino weddings are great fun and the reception in her place is so heart-warming
