    pls i need opinions.....:-(

    Hi guys,
i really need ur opinions on wht the best way to do....
as i said before, I intended to lodge my spouse visa next month, i dont have time to amend my passport so basically im planning to lodge my applications and all my documents using my maiden name. The only thing that i used my hubby's surname is my documents at work and IF ever I think i can changed it again using my single name.
So it is okay to apply for spouse visa first and later the amendment of passport?
Your response will really help me a lot.......
    Thankssssssssss
    mjwoz

*Yes ... and I shall reaffirm what I said to you in my reply to your earlier thread ... it's perfectly acceptable for you to apply for your spouse visa before having your passport amended; indeed [as I also implied] it makes total sense (cost-wise) ... with the present passport being valid until 2014! There's plenty of time (and opportunity) to have it updated once you're in the UK, believe me!

Don't worry ... the documents you use at work ought to have no bearing on the *ones needed for your visa application - *which DO have to correspond with the [maiden] name shown on your existing passport. As will that mentioned by your husband in his letter of support.

It is ok to do this I believe, and I believe that many successful applicants have done that..

There are 7 Planes Of Existance:

7 — Material Plane: The earth, where you are right now.
    6 — Plane of Forces
    5 — Astral Plane
    4 — Mental Plane
3 — Too mysterious to describe.
2 — Too mysterious to describe.
1 — Too mysterious to describe.

It DEFINITELY is! ... MY wife was one of those successful applicants a little over a year ago ... and will CONTINUE using the passport issued in her maiden name for as long as she's allowed to do so ...

As the others said you dont need to legally change your name to your husbands and trust there is unlikely to ever be a law say you do.

It does make it easier with paperworks to share a surname but all those processing your paperworks will be well used to those using their right to keep their maiden name.
If during a visa application to the UK someone said why are you doing so apart from a general question (maybe small talk ie time while waiting for the computer to process something etc) it would be discrimating agaisnt you as a Woman and would get that person in a lot of bother..
Oh lord why did you make so many clothes and shoe shops
