I asked my wife, now that she has lived in the UK for 8 years, what her favourite foods are. She loves to eat Filipino food, eats rice with her fingers and drives me out of the house cooking dried fish. Last night, together with a group of Filipinas she was happily eating all the "specialities" and next week has another bunch of them here to cook, chat and sing.
Guess what he reply was? Her favourite meal is a Sunday Roast. She also rates fish and chips pretty high, along with pizza, so long as it is eaten in Rome! Fried chicken also got mentioned but no Filipino dish at all and I made it clear that she was not restricted. However, when asked what she would request if she was forced to choose her last meal on earth she selected fried rice as the taste to depart this world with.
