To settle the argument about the United Kingdom's *largest cities ... in terms of population, that is ... here are the 'Top Ten' in order of precedence:
1, London
2, Birmingham
3, Manchester
4, Liverpool
5, Glasgow ... yehey!
6, Sheffield
7, Nottingham
8, Newcastle-upon-Tyne
9, Bristol
10, Leeds

The city of London is not where either houses of parliment,whitehall or Buckingham palace and as you say its the City of Westminster where all the "power" is.
BUt then saying that many of the money makers and the Bank of England are in the City of London who some would say hold the real power..
