Maybe Germany can have him then, as he is "the spouse of German national".
Phil Woodentop, our glorious Immigration Man said "We have to abide by the law, but I do think the public will share my concern over this decision." I don't think concern is the right word, maybe anger.
hubby said: this country is going to the dogs...
i can't believe the judge said his marriage is immaterial? what?! stupid! it is not as it determines his ability to be deported or not.. sheesh!
dom its the same laws you used to bring your wife here
you've mentioned in the past about the advantages of using the EU immigration system compared to the British immigration system..
the EU system is so open to abuse its , but then his victim isn't laughing..
don't blame the gov for this, its them criminals in Brussels who've made these laws
the only way is to pull out of the EU and have only one BRITISH immigration system.
of course EU law is wrong, what kind of immigration law/system ignores their past immigration history or criminal record
the gov policy is to deport criminals who have been in prison 1yr or more, but his future wife is a EU national in the UK so its EU law that's been used NOT British immigration law.
Yes if he was married to a Brit i think he would be deported, why the hell shouldn't be ?? his wife can go and live in his country.. and who would want to marry a convicted rapist ?
What is wrong with having a system where foreign criminals are taken straight to the airport and deported upon completion of their jail sentences ? Sticking them in Immigration Removal Centres just gives them access to taxpayer funded lawyers and the opportunity to probe our pathetic legal system.
A shame we don't hang people like him anymore.
