Hi AryM, you're right and you are now in your adjustment period.

UK is no longer that freezing cold as it's already Spring.
I feel what you feel as I always feel freezing even in Spring, autumn and summer.

The most questions I have ever asked to my husband is "when is your summer?"

You'll probably get used to it. But me?

Hello Ma'am Penny, thanks for the reply. You're right, as the days gone by, I don't feel so cold compared to my first days here. Yesterday, i went out without a jumper or a fleece on till evening.

You'll probably have that kind of feeling, but not as strong, until the first time that you go back to the Philippines for a holiday. Then you'll think, oh, nothings changed and the things you thought you missed you realise you don't.

But you can make the transition easier by visiting your local asian shops for Filipino Foods, subscribing to the Filipino TV channels and joining your local Filipino Groups. But this could defeat the whole object of you emigrating!

My mate recently emailed saying he'd just come back from blackpool and it was full of gypsies and tramps. Apparently its the violent crime capital of the northwest as well - http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/bl...own.5762742.jp

Could be scousers... mancs... yorkshiremen, whatever. That's the thing with Blackpool, it's the holiday/nightlife destination for some of the norfs finest scallies. It's probably pretty tame in the afternoon, at a guess most the violent crime happens nighttime.

Hi Ary ... and a belated to the UK. I hadn't realised you were already here; you've come at a good time, though, as the weather's beginning to get warmer. Enjoy every minute of your stay, my friend!

I dont live in Manila Joe..I live here in Bohol..
Now,one thing it has in common with Blackpool is that its not a place that everyone everywhere would wish to live or even visit..(thank goodness)
it is however where I prefer to live and bring up the kids..
The picture you posted of Blackpool just reinforces in my own mind why I prefer to be here...
(But that is just my own personal choice)

i have to admit fred its a beautiful place

but i'm not a sun , after a week i would be bored to death , , i've never sat one day on a beach getting a tan ..

when its time for us to retire then maybe we'll go and live on Palawan only because its a nice place and the misses family lives there.. , but me and the misses like the citylife too much

the thing is fred, all my misses family live around Puerto Princesa, and they like the citiy life of manila...

blackpool the kids like it, yes sure they're are better places in the northwest and the UK , but they like it there, its got everything they want

like you said fred its your personal choice

but were happy here in bankrupt Britain living in our violent city , especially now the misses has a job as a doc
