    Smile Indifinite Leave to Remain

Hello to all..... I need some information about applying Indifinite Leave to Remain.
As far as I know a person should live legally in the UK for a certain length of time depending on the current visa status, before they can be able to apply the ILR.
    My question is....
*Within that lenght of time, is the person allowed to go out the country?
    * Is going out the country affect the chances of applying for ILR?

Well, I am referring to my self here but I was just asking it generally...
I will appreciate any reponse here.

yes they can leave the country
it depends on the number of days your out of the UK.

are you on a spouse visa?
is your visa valid for 27 months?
GENERALLY you NEED to have been in the uk 23 months b4 you can apply for ILR as a spouse, but you can leave the country, but the uk is suppose to be your home

tell me the date you entered the uk, and the start and ending date of your visa and i'll tell you when you can apply

    Ella

    Now I'm confused...
If you are NOT here on a spouse visa.... then you are here on a fiancee or student or visitor's visa ?

.... My spousal visa is still on process and it takes 27 weeks for me to know the result ????????
... which seems to indicate that you are already married. But why do u think it takes 27 weeks ?

    hi joe!

I will be applying for my ILR soon.... I arrived in UK 9th july 2008, visa expires 19th june 2010.

    If so, 9th July 2010 - 28days = 11th June 2010 (I presumed the date when I can start submitting my application)

Please do correct me if I'm wrong! Thank you!

No you don't have to apply for a spousal visa, you have to apply for FLR (Further Leave to Remain).

Really? Iain i already apply the spousal visa...And now I am waiting for the result. My fiancee visa expired last March 28, 2010. I applied my spousal visa March 15,2010.
The UK.Boarder agency did not advice us about FLR...
Anyway I will just wait and see what will happen....

SORRY GUYS for the wrong info

Sorry also Kim........ I talked to my guy He said it suppose to be spousal visa but when where there in uk.boarder agency they told us that the next step for me is to apply FLR. I was not updated to it. I'm innoscent

Anyway my guy pay 465 pounds for FLR visa.
I did not submit anything aside from my passport.
I don't think its an embassy....it is a uk.border agency to where I perform my biometric test. Maybe its a biometric center.
I just signed 1 form there to prove that my information is true.

Hope I make thing clear here this time.
Thank you so much Kim for the help

i guess it was Ella's husband who took care of the documents that's why she wasn't that aware... you don't have to wait that long for your FLR, Ella. It took mine 2 months from the date of application until the release of the ID... you'll have your FLR soon!
