Just that if I go on my own, don't see any people I know, I'll feel a bit out of place and like a lemon! Also being a bit shy, I find it quite hard to talk to women that I don't know!

Just go!...wander about, take it all in, relax, enjoy the sights, the smells etc. If you've not been to the Philippines before, it's the closest you will get to it...No Jeepneys to run you over though.

If you talk to anyone, it's a bonus...if not, just go home at the end of a great day.

I spend so much time on my own, that it will be depressing to see everyone with people they know, not seeing anyone I know/chatting to anyone and then going home by myself!

Take the opposite approach and enjoy your own company. Not everyone in groups find it enjoyable.Firstly, if you are a bit tight, you are constantly worrying if you are going to have to buy the others drinks etc. No one is looking at you just enjoy it.

I was trying to get you to be a bit more positive, but I obviously failed.
I shall go to the one at Bristol on my own, dosen't bother me in the slightest, never gave it a 2nd thought.

Smile & the world smiles with you.

We will be there. Going down tomorrow with our caravan and will site it near Amersham and then travel in each day. We have been several times before and I can echo many of the comments already made. The girls seem to love the stages (Connie got to sing on the big stage a few years ago) and all the socialising. She will meet up with some friends from around here plus her Aunty and another friend who lives in London. They will all bring mountains of food and picnic, Filipino style. We have regular gatherings of the local Filipino community here so it doesn't feel so special to me. In truth I find it pretty difficult to find anything to eat, not being a big fan of rice, lechon and definately not dried fish. I plan to go to a soccer match on Saturday, after an hour or so at the fiesta, and maybe not at all on Sunday! Don't tell Connie though. Parking is a pain and quite expensive.

I guess it was a bit like before I went to the cinema on my own. I didn't like the idea and I thought people would think if me a saddo on my own! But I got fed-up of missing films that I wanted to see, so I thought sod-it, I'll go on my own and it wasn't nearly as bad as I though & I now go often on my own and it doesn't worry me. Of course I do feel a bit jealous sometimes when I see couples and wish it was me!

Bite on the bullet & go SEB, it might be your lucky day. I reckon there's quite a few single girls get along there who could be after a decent, upstanding fella like you
