For speed try using the Avant browser. Alot safer than IE too.

Even though Opera is officially the fastest .... and no browser is safe, as it depends on what the user is doing as this is when most infections happen.

Just got a new laptop yesterday and I thought I'd try IE8 32 bit and 64bit as its a Win 7 64bit machine with 4gb RAM. I must say that Win 7 is a damn site better than Vista, my old machine really struggled with Vista as it only had 2gb RAM, and I couldnt use IE 7 on it, I had to switch to Firefox.
FF worked on the old machine, but I found it very frustrating because I always had to jump through hoops on the sttings and downloads if I downloaded anything.
So far so good and no complaints with Win7 or IE8.
AVG business does slow down my e-mails in outlook 2007, but not as bad as it did on the old machine because Outlook 2003 kept crashing.

Avant Browser uses the Internet explorer engine i belive..

Very true seen people with decent setups who click on a dodgy file or stop/lower security levels for there own benefit and then wonder why they get issues.
