Red face Need Help... just new here

Hi there!!! I'm shary... I'm only 23 years old. I've been processing my documents already and hopefully i'll be there before the end of February this year. Of course it will be very hard for me to start a new life so Im hoping that i'll meet new friends before I go there. It will be my first time to go abroad and i'm going alone knowing nobody. I got so many questions on my mind actually..
anyway... thank you and God bless!

    Hi Shary,
Welcome to the forum. I'm sure which ever part of the UK you move to, you find someone on the forum who's not too far from you. Which part of the Philippines are you from, what kind of visa have you applied for and where will you be living once you arrive in the UK???

    Louella and Iain.

    Heya Shary, welcome here.
I understand what u feel. I haven't started processing my papers, and yet when i think of leaving the Phils, I started crying. It's hard to leave our family, isn't it? and scary too! But then, i'm sure u will be fine. Anyway, home is where the heart is

Thanks for welcoming me!!! I'm from La Union but I love staying in Baguio since I started college. I rented my own pad and worked there for a year and a half. I stopped working and went home here in La Union because I'm working on my application to UK. I applied for a student visa. I'll be taking Health and Social Care Management NVQ 4 in Impact International College, Friar's St. Reading. Hopefully, my certificate of enrollment from the school will arrive very soon so I could apply for my visa already.
I'm used to living alone, depending only in myself. I can live away from my family. But living miles and miles and miles away from them... I DON'T THINK SO. At first i am indeed excited, very excited but as I could feel that I'm about to leave... It's really very HARD. As if I don't want to leave anymore. But I have already invested a big amount of money... I think I have to and actually I want to but just merely thinking of leaving my family, my friends and love ones, I hope I can. But I pray that I could leave because It's my dream. See! I don't know what i want already... hehehe. Anyway! I'm looking forward of meeting you all there! Thanks for the hospitality. I'll pray for all of you. thanks thanks thanks, you made me happy. U

    hello

if you like Baguio, ur like the uk, lol, never been so cold in my life, well second to being up a hill in the lake disrict when i was at college many years ago. dont want to go back there again, is it always so cold ?? i went by plane from Manila, the weather was so bad, planes were grounded coming back, and we had to drive back, and my wife told the dirver not to stop for anything or anyone til out of bandit country hehehehe...

we stayed in camp john hay, think it was the manor hotel, room i thought was ok, i like westin in manila, i once got a luxery room on the jap floor for a standard price, even thou the hotel tired to charge me over $300 usd a night , i booked online and got a free night for every 2 i paid for, but after showing my confirmation still wanted to charge me $300, but finaly they gave in and didnt even say sorry

    Wink

What a shame ... maybe because they thought of you as dollars that's why they charge you that much. Not all Filipinos are like that... But how do you find Baguio?
By the way this February till March it's the flower festival. You could watch so many things like float parade, street dancing and many more. It's a grand festival... so if you have time you could visit baguio again! hehehe.
You know what? $300 is too much for a luxury room overnight.... I think with manor hotel, $100 you can stay for 2 days already. anyway, maybe they just asked you that much money for a tip! hehehe... It's just good that you're not the one who gave in.
