Fiance Visa Application approved what happens next?

Hi everyone. My dad's fiance applied for a fiance visa February. The embassy phoned her a few weeks ago to say it was approved but she didnt really understand what was said as they spoke to her in English. They are still waiting for the visa to come through and her flight date has been and gone. Dad has just booked another flight and is panicking loads. Does anyone know what the process is. She applied on line initially and got an appointment in Cebu or manilla? then did all the biometrics there and then. Should she be going somewhere topick it up? We cant get any information from anyone. Things are getting a bit tight for the wedding date thats if dad makes it till then without having a heart attack - please help!

If the embassy says its approved and asked her to collect it then she should have gone to the embassy, well other members here will correct me if im wrong.

hi mazza1...hi same here i applied online and make appointment online on where and when will i submit my documents and biometrics...Then receive a text saying its been couriered to uk embassy for processing then the last text i received is its ready for collection...I never received any call saying it was approved...Normal processing in philippines is they will just send you text essage or email saying your passport is couriered back to you an ready to collect and dont say anything if you where denied or grant visa...Anyway after that text message i received i went to the uk embassy in philippies where i handed my documents and biometric and thats the only time you will know if you where granted visa once you see your passport with stamp on it...

It is not usual form to be phoned by anyone - and they do not give out the conclusion of the applciation on the phone or by email - as said above - you are told to collect your papers from the place that you submitted them (unless you paid to have them couriered). I would suggest she takes her receipt to the VFS where she applied and discuss it with them directly - nothing is going to happen if she sits at home.....

There are two different ways to recieve the visa, the first is that you pay a courier fee when you go to submit the application and do the biometrics etc and if she done it this way her passport etc will be returned to her by courier, hopefully with her with the visa fixed inside it. The other method, if she didn't pay the extra courier fee, is that they will notify her that her her processed visa application pack is ready for her to collect, which she will have to do at the same place where she submitted it, VFS in Manila.

Its quite a journey for her to get to the embassy from what Dad says, she lives in a remote area and she cant even phone anywhere. I just worry that the visa is there waiting to be picked up and is still going to be there in a years time!!!

Sorry to repeat what has already been said, but your worries are well-founded ... because, assuming she didn't pre-pay delivery by courier, Maria HAS no alternative other than to pick up her processed passport [hopefully containing the visa] herself - at the VFS Office in Manila where she submitted it along with her application - irrespective of the distance involved.

As an OISC adviser UK/VAC VFS do not know the outcome until the envelope is opened you either have a visa or a GV51 Inserted refusal of entry clearance, this is certainly the case in Thailand.

If your dad could get her visa application reference number (she should have a reciept from VFS Global with this on it) there is an online checking system on the VFS Global website https://www.vfs.org.in/UKG-PassportT...L8//QveaP7PAbm that he can log onto and check the progress or status of the visa application. He could also try calling or emailing the British Embassy ManilaVisaEnquiries.manila@fco.gov.uk or VFS Global info.ukph@vfshelpline.com in Manila. Whatever happens they won't tell him the result, (whether the visa application has been successful or not) but they should tell him if it has been processed and if it has been couriered or is waiting to be collected. Maybe someone else on this forum will be able to give you the enquiry phone numbers for both the British Embassy and VFS Global.

i think your visa is approved. Once they say it is ready for collection, that means the visa stamp is already in your passport without the need for any interview. However, if during the lodging of the application she has said that she will pick up the passport, then she needs to pick it up from VFS office together with the receipt that they gave during the time the application was lodged. Moreover, you have to take note of this that fiancee visa has expiration of six months. If within the period of six months, there is no wedding, after the expiration date, that visa is already null and void. If I were you, you need to tell your fiancee to go to VFS with her receipt. its only 3-4 pm that she is allowed to pick up the passport. I hope this helps
