I see nothing wrong with preventing foreigners owning land. As I said above, if they are that interested and have the good of the country at heart, then they should apply for nationality.
As for comparing the situation with that which exists in UK does anybody really think the UK is so wonderful ? I don't that's why I live in Spain.
