I don't know if you will have interest to buy water.

Richest developers in our country are not Filipinos.
Lucio Tan was born in China, as well as Henry Sy. Zobel de Ayala family were from Spain and Mexico. They moved to Philippines and acquired citizenship.
    Johncar54 was right.
If you want the same rights as the nationals then apply for nationality.
We are far fast learner when it comes to learning other language.
If Filipinos works overseas, they can speak other language when they return back to our country.
I agree with you about corruption. But Philippines is not for sale and we better live poor with good values rather than colonized again and treat us idiots.

You can buy using your GF name, and enter into an agreement to lease her property. If you have agreement for 50 years, she has no right for the property covering that year. Or follow Johncar54 advice.
I dont know really what you mean by "indigenous water. Penny praps flooding when it rains?

Land area: 115,124 sq mi (298,171 sq km); total area: 115,830 sq mi (300,000 sq km)

    Wiki says the same

What you say about leasing is covered by an interesting catch 22 you cant lease from your wife so encouraging at the very least a live in relationship only .not many Filipinas are enthusiastic about this more tea father

Secondly there is the anti dummy laws which basicaly say if you try to curcumvent the owning land rule by a nomanee they can grab it applies to businesses to anyone thinking of investing in such "opportunities" would do well to read that in full

As you may have guessed this is a subject I feel passionatley about as it is fundamentaly racist as well as being short sighted and definatly not cricket If Europe and The Americas defended the rights of there citizens by only allowing 10,000piso equivalents to leave the country with the owner removed the right to own property (sell it in a reasonable time) and reserved occupations for all those who are not here as specialists it would all change in a heart beat.

The way not to be treated as idiots and be colonised is to have a secure equal in the law and democratic system with a strong economy as I said China is resource hungry and has her eyes on controling asia by fair means or foul I wouldnt count on the west to come running as we dont have a strong interest to defend

Freds point is also well made

My answer John to your point is that to really have the interests of the country in which you choose to live at heart it needs to be inclusive not racist owning and peacefully enjoying your own home is a fundamental human right ,sure if a country doesnt allow foriegn residency no probs but for me the litany "we are only guests" doesnt wash unless its the same for that countries nationals here

British humour Penny your links figuers are the same as mine second one is land area

    70 Philippines 87,857,500 300,000.00 292.86 115,830.60 758.50

    71 Ecuador 13,363,600 283,560.00 47.13 109,483.08 122.06

    72 Burkina Faso 13,925,300 274,200.00 50.79 105,869.17 131.53

    73 New Zealand 4,035,500 268,680.00 15.02 103,737.89 38.90

    74 Gabon 1,389,200 267,667.00 5.00 103,346.76 13.44

    75 Guinea 9,467,900 245,857.00 38.51 94,925.88 99.74

    76 United Kingdom (UK) 60,441,500 244,820.00 246.88 94,525.49 639.42

I think the use of the word colonisation is not accurate as no one is sugesting that a couple here in the UK shouldnt be able to jointly own there own house the reality is that even in the best of situations if a couple own a property in the Phils and the Filipino dies first the spouse is forced to sell with in a year

I also know personaly several expats who had the same dream which then became a nightmare because the law is not applied equaly and therefor acts as an encouragement for people to behave badly (present company excepted of course) I have no problem with a country deciding to be racist as long as they expect and recieve the same treatment for their own nationals abroad and dont expect me not to notice and comment.

I had thought the responcability for this rests with the power elite rather than the wishes of the general public but perhaps Im wrong and its been sold as patriotism

Problem is Keith they openly tolerate racism within their own society..
My niece recently came from the province to stay with us in Manila to find work..She filled in an application for sales lady in Robinsons but screwed up with one of the requirements.
    She was too black.
She is now sheltering in one of my units in out of the sun scrubbing herself with whitening soap.
Even the family think its hilarious!!

    Philippines is surrounded by sea.

Countries of the World (by largest land area, including indigenous water)
    http://www.worldatlas.com/aatlas/pop...s/ctyareal.htm

UK and Philippines both suffering from floods when raining heavy.
If you are suffering from flood in our country, go up to the hills.
    Or go back to UK!
To be honest. I am sad with what has happened with Cumbria and north of Philippines last few months.

I respect people wanting to own a land in our country and I'm also happy as husband never dream to buy for himself. His dream is to buy a land and give to me and put in my name.
