    Steve, don't turn up

Dont go to any wedding planners or mention wedding to anyone when organising, all you see are their eyes spinning with ££ note signs.

    Congratulations on your upcoming wedding

No idea how weddings are done there in UK but generally advice I give is that let those who are really close to you and supportive of your wedding attend the church part. Its okay to have a simple layout for the church setting and instead focus more on the reception and events.

People will more often remember your wedding if they didn't go hungry during the reception and it was lively. Those that will recall the church blessing part are those really close to the couple.

Just make sure that you know what is allowed to be eaten by your VIP guests that way you avoid any major disaster of serving him or her something which may be bad for their health.

Most of all do not go in debt just to have a nice wedding. It'll be more practical to have a simple one and have enough savings to start your life as a couple. Most folks tend to be in the red just to show to folks that they have a nice wedding and later on argue on how to pay the debt :P

:P For some reason my post double-posted. Can't find the delete option.

Anyhow, to add take lots of photos! Encourage your friends, relatives, family members and other guests to take as much photos they could even if its from a camera phone. Those memories will not come back again.

Lastly, assign at least one to police the area during the church wedding and so too at the reception if its not a private setting. This way you can be assured that everyone will have fun and will not remember the day as one wherein something bad happened to them - well, this applies more to current Philippine urban settings :P
