I will be going to Manila in October and have to go to the British Embassy for a local CNI, does my fiance have to be with me? She lives in Davao, and long does it take for the staff to supply me with one? Thanks everyone, I am a new user.

Hi! Welcome!
I dont think you will need to have your fiance with you when you apply for the Local CNI. Because when we got there just this April gone there were a few guys applied for the Local CNI without their fiance.
But you must have her important papers.
I brought with me my BirthCertificate, my passport, and since i just had my annullment i also brought with me my annullment papers which include all the Court Order, Judge's Decision and Finality. And most of all the NSO Mariage Certificate with the annotation saying that the marriage is "null and void". You will also need her Advisory of Marriage record from the NSO.
But if she is single then all she needs is her Passport, BirthCertificate and a Cenomar ( Certificate of NO Marriage) from the NSO.
You dont need to make an appointment and if you have all the documents with you then you can get your Local CNI on that day. I think we only waited for about 20minutes.
And about the payment they only accept cash in Pesos. I can remember we paid about more than P6,000.
Goodluck!![]()

Hi! welcome to a friendly forum... dont worry for being here as we are glad to help you... we got married last October and before that we went to the embassy there in Manila for his CNI ... I brought my Cenomar as they will ask on it too... then go to the Civil regestre for the schedule... you can use search for some thread on it just keep update and some more member will help you here ... good luck soon![]()
Hi Dean!
This is what we did so im just going to share it with you to give you some ideas...i know you have a few months but its better if everything is well prepared.
You will not believe this, my annullment with my ex was still on process and at the same time preparing for my second wedding!
But i gave my lawyer a maximum time of 4 months to get it all done for me.
First of all you apply for your CNI at your local civil registry, pay 」30, then you will have to wait 22days before the release. They will also ask details of your fiancee.
Then you book your time off in work and if you can book a flight few months before your holiday you get a cheaper flight.
If you book an early flight...i mean if you arrived in the philipines in the morning then you can go straight to the Embassy to get your Local CNI. Dont forget you need to have some cash with you in Pesos.
Then as soon as you have your Local CNI apply for a marriage licence as that will take 10days. But before that you will need to have this marriage counselling which will only take 1 day. You get a certificate of attendance and show it to the Civil Registry before they start counting 10 working days. They will let you know anyway when to collect your marriage licence.
So you can work out the date of your wedding plus extra days for your honeymoon or time with her family.
And also you need to find out about getting a Philippine visa if you are staying here for more than 21 days! My husband have to go down to London to get a visa at the Philippine Embassy. He paid less than 30quid and got the visa on that day.
I hope it gave you a few ideas. One thing more you need to set a certain amount ( budget limit) for your wedding and holidays. as it will help you big time and ease your mind. Dont hesitate to ask your fiancee how much is a single thing.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned the embassy closes for consular business at 12 noon so get there before or they won't let you in.
Thank you everyone, yes going in October, got plane tickets, I will have my fiance send me her passport and birth certificate and CENOMAR to me and I will arrive in Manila at 09.35, yes thanks Sparky, checked the times, so going to be mad rush. Applying for visa, sending documents off to London, can I apply now for visa to be dated for October?
I will be asking a lot questions before then, thanks, this is a great site, I was sick of approaching Asian women and couples in the street asking them for advice. lol. My fiancee is on here now.
Hi Deanotheman,
My fiance applied for his CNI there in UK, as far as I know, you have to be here 21 days in Philippines before you can apply for CNI. SO if you have time there, might as well get your CNI at your local office, you can set an appointment and they will post you your CNI. You have your fiancee information, that should save your time in going to UK Embassy in Manila. SPecially if your arrival is 9:45am, I don't think you can make it on time to Embassy due to Manila traffic. October is still far away, you can easily apply for CNI there and bring it with you here.
Hope that helps.
wow got your plane tickets now ei?!
Im sure if you arrive on time you'll make it to the embassy. Just tell your transport to take you to the British Embassy in a quickest route.
With regards to your visa i think you can apply now. Just show them your plane ticket so they know when should your visa starts. Anyways you can always get an extension while you are in the Philippines.
Goodluck!
