I chat with my father a lot on this subject.
He says that a lot of older people have a doze in the afternoon or in the early evening before they try and sleep at night also.
His doctor told him to cut out the naps, but it is too difficult for him.
IMO, if you can resist by any means having the nap, maybe you will be so tired at 10pm, you will be asleep with your lovely wife
