    Are wedding rings important?

Just wondered if anyone here in the forum got married with out having wedding rings?

Are there any alternatives of it for the wedding ceremony?

I thought their were two essential things for a wedding ... the bride and the ring.

i agree! wedding rings are the most important thing on a wedding day after the bride of course + plus the officiating priest or pastor

in fairness to my fiancé, he is not kuripot. We just need to put sense on everything we spend. I've asked about it coz, I just want to know how sensible it is to spend for a wedding ring and not wearing it after the wedding. I am also not comfortable wearing a ring on my finger.

You don't even know you're wearing one after a few days.

Its down to you two whether you have a ring and whether you believe it's important - I didn't want a ring but my husband thought it was essential because of what it symbolises - the eternal circle - but why not give each other a different token that means something to you both (like your signatures on the paper!!)

The cost of the ring never concerned me too much because if I thought I was getting a deal at the time, I knew I'd pay for it in the long term!

I have never been a jewellery person.

I have always shunned rings, and even watches. I would wear them for maybe a few days, and then, i just forget to put it on again, because ... well, to be honest, these trinkets have never really had worth to me.

But, I DO wear a wedding ring. It has some worth to me because it symbolises my bond with my wife, especially when we are apart.

Every time I look at my hand, even wheN i am playing guitar, I can see that token ... and it makes me think of my wife.

So for me, my wedding ring stays on and I love it.

Just don't ask me to wear any other ring or jewellery lolz

It may not be as important to have rings but for me it symbolizes commitment and it serves as a reminder that we made a vows to each other. It gives me the greatest feeling that I belong to him forever

If he turned gay, then a possible route would be to go to Ireland to find a partner - and they're always so drunk over there that Patricia/Patrick ... all the same!
