I do weekly shopping at Asda or Morrisons..

I'd love to get a greenhouse so I can start planting my own veggies. It's very handy if in case your misis is so desperate of cooking gulay (vegetables).

If there's any Asian shop nearby, please try to ask for a Talkhome phonecard. It's a lot cheaper for making international phonecalls back home

My advice sparky is to let her loose in the charity shops.
Like many English people, she will love to spend time looking for bargains and you will see that she is thoughtful about money.
Buy her flowers every week (the supermarket prices are very reasonable nowadays) and buy her the things she will need, especially during the settling in period.
Get her to use chikkatext to text her family free from a pc.
Most of all, give her lots of attention and love, of course this will never stop and shouldn't stop for always.

the love an attention is the easy bit- in fact perhaps too much as i am always asking her if shes ok etc.

flowers- check -had one of my staff buy a bunch so they were there when we arrived back home

charity shops- i am trying to get her to make friends with a few girls here so that they can go off shopping etc in a girly way without this big lumbering lump tagged along with her
