    Red face Just settling in

Hello Everyone, I have arrived, at last, to join my husband, John, for my first visit to his homeland here in the UK. My first impression was how clean and quiet it is after the noise and pollution of Manila! The fresh air is wonderful but despite John telling me how warm it is I still feel cold!! Are there any other pinoy near Hindhead in Surrey? I miss hearing Tagalog! More impressions later.
    Salamat Po.

, Milene ... does your husband, John 'the law' happen to be a policeman?

Anyway, all the best on your arrival in the UK [where our "summer" temperatures can only (hopefully) improve!] and a warm to this friendly forum!

    Hi Milene,

I'm tagalog, too although I'm not from Surrey. I'm from the Northwest England (Manchester). Hope you'll be enjoying your time in England as it's a beautiful country. I came to England on summer 2004 (May) and just like you, I felt so cold. I was shivering . I thought it was the winter bwahaha! You'll get used to the cold and damp weather don't worry. Wait until the winter comes and you'll see a real snow hehe!... you might as well start buying your nice thick coats now to keep you real warm and cosy when winter comes... it's not as cold as Canada here but it's still freezing... you'll be alright

    ...have a nice day

Taka care now & Bye!.... Venus
