    Alex Higgins Died

    Awww.... not surprised it was throat cancer, he smoked like a chimney. Great player in his day, but very flawed.

    Despite his flaws, he will always be my favourite player of all time. Plus, when he lived in Stalybridge, he told me to put £100 on a horse - I wasn't brave enough for that so I put a tenner on it - came in at 16/1!!!
    A sad loss to the world of sport!

    Top man, one of sports best moments when he won the title and was crying as he hugged his wife and baby. 80 a day, though, surprised he lived that long.
