can you get an Irish passport, a family permit has some advantages over a spouse visa. (mainly its free)

My mother has been deceased for a couple of years, and she was born in County Waterford, though my Father also deceased, was English, therefore I have a right to Irish Citizenship.
Will be calling the Irish Embassy tomorrow morning.
This will indeed save me alot of money, and pain.
My ex Wife came over from Peru years ago, and I had to go through all that nonsense!!!
