Anyone give tagalog lessons in Birmingham?

    Hi there,

Not really sure if I'm posting this in the right place or not :S

My name's Jack, I'm 21 and I'm half Filipino and half English. Just finished a three year degree in geography and have decided to stay on in Birmingham. Would love to know if anyone knows someone offering tagalog lessons in Brum, have always wanted to learn it and think now would be the best time

Would be really great to hear from anyone,

    Thank you,

    Jack

Well ... since THIS forum's part-Filipino/part-British - as its title suggests - it's certainly an ideal site to start looking for a Tagalog tutor. Good luck in your search!

is your mother filipina?, have you not asked her or if she knows anyone.

there may not be any in his forum but there must be many in birmingham, just go to a local mall and if you see any go and ask them, isnt there a philipino store in the yellow pages..phone them up and ask
i have learnt to do what my wife says!

I assume Leah will be there soon??

Anyway, if you want to get started with really basic tagalog, go to itunes and download Pimsleur Tagalog.

Regarding Filipinos ... hmm in Brum there doesn't seem to be much of a Pinoy community. Brum is heaven in many respects, but doesn't seem to have as many pinoys as other cities!

yep, search amazon for Pimsleur Tagalog. It's the best in the market for actually learning to speak it. Some would recommend Rosetta stone, but it's not advisable unless you live in the Phils and can get immersed in the grammar etc.

    So Pimsleur Tagalog.

hi Jack, if you pop down to the filipino church group in Woodgate vallley after their service around say 1pm and chat to the folks there , I am sure someone would help you out. I might be interested in lessons myself and I may be there this Sunday. My wife and little ones are back in the Phils right now so I have more spare time. They are at the st francis community church at the top of Glenside off Summerfield Road
