Should Smoking Be Banned in Private Cars?

I don't smoke myself but have been in smokers cars and their driving was fine

Les, I trust you and when I'm next in Harrogate ( a more affluent town than Scarborough ) I will be happy to be driven in your smoke-free taxi (but with substantial discount as a forum member and retired doctor ).
I think we're all agreed the evidence is there that passive smoking is a health hazard. What really is more difficult to answer is whether there is also evidence for smoking as a safety issue while driving.
