Question about funds tranferred to UK

Hello, I need help. I am to send money from a bank here in the PHilippines to Santander in UK. The thing is I don't know if Santander charges a fee upon receipt of the funds. Does anyone in here know?

    Thanks a lot!!

Sorry, but isn't the obvious answer, Ask the bank.

If they do make any charges they well be negotiable.

Also, don't just be aware of possible charges, also ask about exchange rates. That's where most bank etc. make the real money.

Hehe actually that's what i plan on doing .. i was just hoping that somebody might know cause I'll have to call them while I'm on the bank in Manila. Because by the time I can call Santander the banks here will be closing.

Also, it looks like the funds would have to go thru a mediator bank since it looks like Santander does not have an affiliate bank here

Here is information from Santander's website. You will see Santander don't make a charge:

Receiving money via a CHAPS or International Payment

You will need to provide the sender with your full name, sort code and account number, (or IBAN International Bank Account Number if your account has one). For International payments from abroad you will also need to provide the sender with Santander’s Bank Identifier Code (BIC) which is ABBYGB2L.

If the funds are received in a foreign currency we will automatically convert them into Sterling using our exchange rate, on the day we receive the funds.

The funds will normally be credited to your account on the same day we receive them. If it is an International Payment we will credit your account providing we receive the payment by no later than 5pm.

Although we do not levy a charge to receive an International Payment, other banks may deduct a charge from the payment before it reaches us. These are beyond our control.

    I hope this helps.

You might also consider PBI in UK.

If you do, I believe this number for them is 24/7 (0044) 02075923037
