    (Cyclic Redundancy Check)0x80070017

    I have just bought an external hard drive and every time I try to back up the system it stops and shows this error.
    I`m running a legit Vista operating system, and am going to defrag and run cc cleaner to get rid of clutter.

    I would appreciate any help, if its kept simple
