Clarification For new fees of ILR

:omgHello Everyone,
Here i am again asking some clarifications..Im aware that all visas fees are increasing, Some fees will be implemented on 1st of october (annex A) and other fees will be implemented on november and ILR is one of those...Im i right? I will be posting my ILR apllication on 5th of october so i just pay £840?
And one more clarification of English Language Test Do i need to do it?
please help me...I want to do it right before i will post it....

The latest news on the UK Border Agency website states:-

'Regulations to set application fees at or below the cost
of processing are subject to the negative parliamentary
procedure, and these fees will increase from 1 October 2010'

'Where a fee is charged that is set above the cost of processing,
the regulations are subject to the affirmative parliamentary
process; these fees are due to come into effect in November
subject to parliamentary timetabling'

The date when the increased fees will come into effect will
be published on their website nearer the time.

ILR Postal = GBP900 (was GBP840) From October 1st 2010
There are many different categories so please check yourself which one is for you.

Concerning the Life In UK test --- If you do not already have a pass certificate or if you have lost your certificate then you WILL need to take the test.

Hope this helps, I must say the increases were news to me.

thanks for your reply, Yeah i've read that but when you see the bracket (annex A) will be implemented on 1st of october and the second bracket which ILR belong is says that will be implemented on november....
I already past the life in uk test....
i would like to know about this new English language test

I think applications submitted before 29/11/10 won't need the English language test as uve already past the life in the uk test.

Phew ...! Must admit the new regulations had ME worried too, at first ... until I realised that the series of **English Language tests apply ONLY to those whose basic knowledge of English is - for any reason(s) - lower than the standard required for tackling the *'Life in the UK Test' ... in other words, they serve as a sort of "platform" for the *KOL [as it's sometimes called]. And, ANYONE who's already passed this *hurdle, has NO need to concern him/herself with these ** preliminaries.

I think and i've read somewhere that there will be changes to the ILR process next year and the government may change the Life in the UK Test then...

... By MY reckoning, NO-ONE who has taken - and passed - the 'Life In The UK' Test will require to sit ANY of the English Language Tests - *regardless of WHEN they apply for either ILR and/or British Citizenship!

yes u are correct sir Art those who applied their ILR and passed the life in the uk before nov 29 2010 will be excluded on this one,...
thats why Jane2009 is asking,she wants to know if she is covered by this, and i think she's not as she will have her application submitted in October 5,2010.

In June 2010 the government announced plans to introduce compulsory English language tests for all non-European migrants applying to come to the UK to join or marry their settled partner.

Today the UK Border Agency announced that these plans will be implemented from 29 November 2010. From this date, any migrant who wants to enter or remain in the UK as the partner of a British citizen or a person settled here will need to show that they can speak and understand English, by taking an English language test with one of our approved test providers.

The new rules will apply to anyone applying as the husband, wife, civil partner, unmarried partner, same-sex partner, fiance(e) or proposed civil partner of a British citizen or a person settled in this country. They will be compulsory for people applying from within the UK as well as visa applicants from overseas.

Further information about these changes can be found in a written ministerial statement, which you can download from the right side of this page. We will publish more information, including a list of approved test providers, before the change is introduced.
