Lobectomy means partial removal of a lobe, for epilepsy or tumour, and of course adjacent parts of the brain could be damaged. Damage to the pineal by fluoride is unproven in humans. Damage may be inevitable in brain surgery. But the most serious cause of damage is a tumour, fortunately rare.
