irish immigration

hi there all,
just had a strange question some ppl may be able to answer.....i called up the irish immigration and they were propa rude!
I am a British citizen and have irish gradparents, am i eligable to get and a Irish passport(republic of ireland)
can anyone help?

They were probably hacked off hearing the depth of their financial crisis - maybe their public sector is going to have to face up to another 5% pay cut ( I like to see a dose of a larger cut dished out to some of the non job public sector fat cats in the UK)
