I was 66, (having been married for almost 25 years with two adult children and 4 grand children and had been divorced about 20 years. My wife was 34 and had never been married, no children when we married)

We both had to do the seminar which was in Tagalog. I understood some of it as of course there were the occasional words in English and I speak Spanish and many Tagalog words are the same.

All in all it was a waste of time for me.

Having said that there was probably a quite a lot of good advice for younger people and a similar type of seminar would be a sensible thing to have in UK and elsewhere. After all we have to llearn how to drive, speak another language, how to use a computer etc so why not about marriage and caring fore children ?

When having a church wedding in the UK, the local vicar usually likes to hold a meeting beforehand and will often lecture on the sanctities of marriage, family values, life etc. When my ex husband and I visited our local vicar, the Reverend’s dog sat on my ex’s feet. He felt too embarrassed to kick the dog off and his feet went to sleep. The dog was elderly and had a very bad problem with wind ....... we left in a hurry in search of a gas mask!

Anyway, a few years later our baby son was christened in the church by the same vicar. Our son smiled sweetly and then passed wind on him very loudly. I didn’t know where to put my face but my ex husband was delighted that he had finally got even!
