Calling the Philippines from O2 house phone.

Not usre if this is the right place to post this, if it is not, can the Mods please put it in the appropriate place, thanks.

I have been using the 08718840000 number to call the Philippines from my O2 home phone, it states on the website that it is 8pence per minute, but after just talking to O2 customer support, I have found that it is actually 16pence per minute.
Does anyone know any cheap numbers that I can use to call the Philippines, to a mobile? As there is no set time when I phone, could be day or night, I do not really want to use phone cards, also, they are not available in my local shop. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I went on this trail a while ago, but trying to call a mobile at low cost is not easy. There are these low cost numbers that you find on the internet, but I think they are not as good as they make out. Phone cards seem to be a bit of a con to me, never had much success. I just use the Orange Camel sim, still expensive at 27/min so I only use it if I really need to talk. I mostly use yahoo messenger through the day or sms my asawa

ok steve i am on virgin mobile and i dont use all my minutes i joined rebtel through the internet just log on and sign up but you pay so much i think i use to pay and still do now, say 20 dollars through a credit card or debit card , that gives you so much then you add charie or anyone else number to the site anbd they send you a text with there new number starting with 02 which is free with my minutes , its worked for me steve and we still use it now for emma to call her dad and sister so she is happy and i am too, just let me know if you need anymore imfo

I have a O2 contract for my mobile and I also have O2 home phone and broadband, it is just a number that I can use off the house phone that I am looking for, but if someone knows a number that I can use on my mobile too, that is even better.

Not the cheapest but have a look at http://www.18185.co.uk/ 9p/min to landlines 12p mobiles I think they have an 0207 London number for accessing from your mobile

True - but at work we sort of draw the line. We use yahoo to text type as we are both busy.

£1.40 per minute, bloody hell. My gf does not have skype, so that idea is out the window, also does not answer the question on how to phone cheaper from my O2 home phone lol.

Telediscount is 8p to landlines and 10p to mobiles. Used them for a couple of years and always looks right when we check our bills.

I think I have found a way to use my contract minutes to phone the Philippines free of charge, I am waiting for a response from the company and will try it first, to ensure that it really is free before posting the details on here for everyone.

My wife has has a Lebara SIM in a cheapie cell phone to call & text to Phils.
    Landline 10pence per min
    Mobile 13pence per min.
They seem always to have promo like top up £20 get £10 free.
Lebara calls in UK are free (Lebara to Lebara) otherwise 10pence to other mobiles and 5pence per min flat rate to landlines.
So far she always gets good connection.
May not be cheapest but maybe worth checking out on google. They will send you a free SIM in the post (usually takes 1-2 days)
We can get top ups in our small village at local Co-op.
Those phone cards were such a pain for us as often difficult to get a decent line especially at peak times and hols such as Xmas.
