What gets people banned here?

I've been wondering since I came back after over a year away from the forum. I know I've probably made some people wanna hit me in the past, but I'm still here. I see that some of the people who were very active last year are now banned.

What does get people banned from this forum anyway?

I've often wondered this myself.. I thought I would get banned with my naughty jokes...especially that one about the rabbit hunter and the scent of a woman thing...

I think as long as you keep a certain amount of respect for others...you wont get banned..?

It makes sense to keep good rep on any internet thingy...especially ebay perhaps...I was once asked for my ebay username by courier agency company...so they could check out what kind of rep I've got on there I suppose...100% positive! But they still wont like me, cause they'll know I used to drive a skoda!

Well, different forums have different styles. Some are run by egomaniac's who wish to ban for any move against the 3080 rules which you must read prior to joining, and expected to know intimately and never post a question that has already been asked! But FilipinoUK isn't like that, in my experience Keith will let things run their course until it becomes upsetting or offensive to other people, and then will normally give them a chance, before banning.

Occasionally, as on all forums, there are some internal politics and difference in views which affect things, but that isn't really something that would affect your normal poster.

On the other hand there could be a full court hearing for all posts which are deemed inappropriate with the guilty person taking a day off work and paying all expenses for the judging panel to fly to the Philippines and remain in a 5 star hotel in Borocay whilst you argue your view as to why you shouldn't be banned. And because the hearing is held in the Philippines, a brown envelope under the table and also some good gifts would sway the decision process.

I'm glad I haven't been banned. When my bf told me he'd found a community of Filipinos in the UK and I first checked out the forum he'd joined, I kinda bristled at all the threads about finding a wife and about scams. It all sounded like people weren't being seen as people but as commodities. I guess that's part of why I kept arguing with everyone last year. I've since changed my mind about the people on this forum. I still think everyone's nuts, but in a good way.

I've been a member of a few forums over the last 10 years or so, and have never read any of the rules, but I figure that if you want to get on with other members it's just the same as real life, you should always respect another persons opinion, don't insult, curse or make personal remarks about other members and always try to be polite

Unless of course there is a troll on the loose, then none of the above applies and you can let rip

It's always worth remembering that most content is open for the worldwide public to read, that includes women, under 18's and old people, and religious people. I wouldn't want my kids reading curse words they might have stumbled across online, so I'm not going to swear or curse online so that someone else's child might find what I've typed.
