Thumbs up Welcome Back Piamed ...

... better-known by our long-term members as 'Toks'!

It's a real pleasure to have you back with us again. For those who aren't aware, it was Toks who first gave me - an inexperienced luddite at the time - step by step instructions on how to upload an avatar ... for which I'm grateful.

However, that was more than 18 months ago ... and "time and tide wait for no man" as the saying goes. Equally, it could be said that here was a man who didn't rest on his laurels waiting in vain for "fortune" to smile upon him! Here was a man with a vision ... a vision to lead from the front in the world of male fashion. And this he has achieved in the short interval of just over one year. No mean feat, as I'm sure you'll agree!

'Marikit Couture' is the brainchild of Toks and his wife, *Pia - *who ably juggles the task of running the business with caring for their infant daughter (after whom the business was named) whenever her husband travels to far-flung continental destinations (he's in Switzerland at the moment!) in search of the latest exquisite designs.

back, Amigo! We [all] wish you every opportunity for continuing success in your joint venture. Cheers!

Muchos gracias senor! Buenos dias y que tal amigo. What a build up! I was getting excited to know to whom you were referring; then I realised it was li'l ole me. You are a true gentleman and have ascended to lofty heights - now a mod...well done...an inevitable consequence of you delivering your exceptionally acute repartee and being a constant source of assistance to so many. I do hope we shall have occasion to meet sooner rather than later

Hahaha! Is it a bird: a plane perhaps? No, it's plain old me. I have studied extensively around the medical arena and have worked for many years in the pharma industry. Clinical trials, pharma companies, etc. and now consult for medical device and pharma companies.

I'm humbled to have a discussion/thread about me. How is the lovely Myrna? I cannot believe we have not met in person yet.

, amigo, for your complimentary remarks. Myrna and I have often wondered how you, Pia and little Marikit are getting on ... and always hoping we shall meet in person someday. You were one of the first people I got to "know" on the forum and I value your friendship.

Hopefully the information I typed, turned out to be accurate ... given that much of it was recalled from memory.

Things for us have changed very little since we were last in touch. Myrna will have been in Perth for two years come next March. She has already passed the 'Life in the UK Test' and is eligible to apply for ILR in early February. At one stage, she thought of resuming her teaching career ... but any plans to do so, were quickly thwarted by the Scottish Education Minister who, in her "wisdom" (or otherwise) decreed that her BSc Honours Degree, plus 22 years' experience at Senior Level in the Phils, "did not match the standards required for teaching in Scotland's schools". But, to be perfectly honest, mate ... being fully retired, I'm happy for her to be at home with me , and so, too, does she seem to be!

Our very best regards to you all,

    Arthur & Myrna.

My friend, Marikit is an absolute joy. She knows how to wrap me around her finger Not sure how she learned to do that She is also fast learning to get her thoughts across This morning when Pia was still in bed Marikit instructed, "mummy, up up, Mighty Mite, walk"

I'm flattered by your memory Arthur, thanks

It's incredible that society places inadequate emphasis on experience these days. Arthur D Little - I mentioned them when you first joined - McKinsey, etc. place so much value it would appear on anything but that. Most who've workd with them will attest to that.

Great to be together 24/7. Unfortunately, I owe, I owe so it's off to work, I still go!

Catch up soon. Regards to Myrna.

Aren't kids amazing!? My little granddaughter, Freya is just over a year old and al~most walking self-supported. She's a very perceptive wee one too ... and, like Marikit, is already communicating her instructions - albeit in baby-talk - usually directed at the family dog! I sometimes wonder if her evident determination is a subconscious desire to compensate for the fact that she was born with her left hand not fully-formed when her mum - my daughter, Fiona - was 40.

Whatever the reason, my friend ... it certainly doesn't stop Freya from engaging in all the normal activities enjoyed by other infants of her age. She's a joy to behold and has a very hearty chuckle ... reminiscent of that which Fiona, herself, had away back in 1970.

So glad to know all is going well with you folks; are you still dividing your time between Leeds and Milton Keynes? Take Care, and Kindest Regards to Pia. We always look forward to your updates.

    Hi Arthur

Freya sounds like quite a character, just like her lolo

Still dividing my time unfortunately but that will have to change very very soon. We're going to need a bigger car also

We are looking for a house to rent somewhere commutable to MK from. Well rent for about 6 months or so while checking out the various areas we might consider being permanently based in. Currently like the look of Winslow and Buckingham - great village atmospheres, good schools but Pia will have to crack on with her driving lessons.
