hi! im a newbie here...i just would like to ask RE general visit visa... if my friend will provide accommodation and food during my stay in UK..do i still need a support letter from my friend (notarized).... i can present myself a financial doc such as bank certificate though its a newly opened account just last september.... are they strict with that? Lastly, if ever refused , does it have a denied stamp mark on my passport??? or i will just receive a letter of denial ?
if it gets denied you will receive a letter which is the notice of refusal. The embassy now have access to some banks to do an account check if how you have been banking with the bank. The embassy would prefer to see at least 6 months of your bank statements savings.
you will need an invitation letter from your sponsor. If you got lots of money and property to come back to phils you have the best chance of getting visa.
you need to supply loads of evidence that you have the reason to come to phils in order to be granted for a visa

thanks! coz my friend will just provide accomodation... just wanna know if i need still need a support letter... do i need to submit flight booking though in the website they do not recommend to have that in advance ? so no denied stamp on the passport good...
And also until when is the validity of the visa?

It can vary ... but the usual validity is 6 months ... or less. However, will your employer be prepared to grant you such a lengthy leave of absence?how about the validity of the visa? 6 months? 1 year? from date of issue?
if you have a high position job that you have been geeting high salary and you have property and also you need to show strong ties to your family in rp, then you stand more chance of obtaining visit visa. And visit visa is hard to obtain as many visiters have abused the visit visa and have not returned to ther homeland after ther stay. If your refused you will get a refusal letter, and the eco will STAMP A DENIED MARK IN YOUR PASSPORT. It will be a small black stamp that just has your refusal ref number and it will say uk/manila..

You could always cheat. You can do bookings for most hotels where you don't pay until you check in and can cancel any time. So for instance you could make a booking at the Hilton in London, have the full evidence for that, and also book a fully refundable business class ticket and cancel them both after getting the visa, this would be of course cheating, and I would never recommend that. Although I have done both for getting visas.
thats a good point rickey, but if you have the money or more important your sponsor has the money to book a room at the hilton and purchase fully refundable business class ticket to uk, then surely the applicant would get the visa anyway, if the sponsor or the applicant has that sort of money to pay for expensive hilton hotels and business class tickets.if the sponsor has the money to pay for that, then the sponsor can show he or she has the money to sponsor the applicant in the first place.i think the brit embassy are fly to that 1, and cancel, because they already have your bank statements and income details. its ok if you have shown you can pay for expensive travel, but not so good if the sponsor cant show high savings and high salary, then i think the applicant will get caught out..
