    CNI at the UK embassy

    hi there everyone,

Only 1 month till i fly out to Phils for our wedding! i can not wait now! I was hoping for some advice from people who have married in Phils in the last 6 months about changing the CNI at the UK embassy. Does anyone know how long it takes?

I have been told that i need:
    1. my CNI and,
    2. fiance's CENOMAR,
    3. my birth certificate
    4. moral charactor reference

Do you know if I need anything else? i am on a tight schedule time wise so don't want any hicups trying to get it changed. thanks for all your inputs as always!!

Well up until recently, you could change your CNI, whilst you waited. Seems like they have changed the rules & you are now required to come back the next day.

This can be a real pain, as it means spending an extra night in Manila...maybe 2 nights, if you miss the Embassy opening times.

StevieC got married recently, perhaps he could shed some more light?

The rest of your list is correct, apart from no.4...never heard that one before?

Well i was hoping to hear that it could be same day but i guess not, always later!

Well the plan is StevieC is to go 8am Thursday morning 2 December to UK embassy as i arrive at 7pm on the Wednesday. now this is the problem i have after reading the UK embassy website they don't do pick-ups on Friday and only in the afternoons. I am hoping that i can sort somthing out as I'm flying to Cagayan De oro at 1pm on the Friday. The actual Wedding day is on the 20 December so this leaves me till Monday to pick up and go to Cagayan De Oro to apply for marrriage licence as there is a ten day period for this!!

Knowing my luck everything is going to go the worst possible way!!

Congratulations on your Wedding Stevie C I hope you had a fantastic day and have many happy years together!!

I hope so, thanks for your help and advice stevie! I will take the flight tickets and tell them our situation and hopefully they will be understanding about our time constraints. Looking at the time you arrived and the date of your marriage, when applying for marriage licence is it 10 days or 10 working days we have to wait?

Steve, you might remember, we spoke before. I got married in CDO last year? Much has been said on this forum, that you have to wait 10 business days...We actually got ours in 10 straight days.

Sorry i only just saw this part, working long hours has made me speed read!! I was asked by the lady who is partly organising our Wedding to produce that also!! I thought it was a bit . I have got one just in case.

If i remember correctly your wife was from Cagayan De Oro. If you are over there at that time you have an invite to the wedding!!

As far as I know, I wont be there next month, but if you'd like to pay for my flight, I'll gladly attend your wedding.

Now that is good to hear!! I worked it out to allow time for 10 business days, but if it is 10 straight days then great! That would take a load of stress off my shoulders!! I have never wanted something to happen so much as getting married to Madel. I don't want it to pear shaped

Being at Christmas time, flight prices and Wedding costs have gone through the roof!! I think i would have to decline on paying for your flight.
