new mother to a british son

Hi Im muningning and i just gave birth to my son Isaac.Recently i applied for my son's british passport. One applicant there encouraged me to register my marriage ceritifcate in Uk embassy manila. She said that would make my marriage valid and legal in Uk and my hubby in worst case cant get away with his obligations or cant just leave me as my marriage is legal in Uk.Basically, my husband and i are deeply in love with each other and we dont even think of that.I read that the marriage is not to be registered but will only be deposited in Uk for safekeeping. As long as the marriage is legal in the host country then they will acknowledge it in Uk.Correct me if im wrong...same goes with my son's birth certificate.

your right, if your marriage was legal in the phils then its recognised in the UK, then there is no need to 'register' it in the UK, most people do not.

Good Morning ... and congratulations on the birth of your son, Isaac - a nice Biblical name - the perfect complement to your happy union! to the filipino/uk family.
