You couldn't make it up ! The bit that sticks in my gullet is
The UK Border Agency (UKBA) said the man was held for immigration offences and must now report to the local enforcement office.
I've received a letter from Home Secretary Theresa May replying to my complaint about illegals caught by the UKBA working in a local Indian restaurant who were "released on bail pending their deportation". In it she blamed the inefficient system they inherited from Labour slowing the deportation process. I don't buy this one, there is no reason why illegals shouldn't be taken immediately to the nearest airport with direct flights to their country of origin and shipped out. Instead of that they are down the road, getting another job in the black economy racking up further in time and costs to catch them again.

About 30 years ago several staff working in the Police canteen in a South London police station were illegals. They were discovered when one of them upset a PC, who then did some checks on.
Only another half million to go.
