    Unhappy visit visa

Hi guys, Its me again lol I need your suggestions/opinions, I hope you still remember me.

I am a 3rd year student of one of the universities here in Cebu. I have a boyfriend who is an Austrian citizen but he is in London working for many years. We know each other for a long time like 2 years and we already met and just recently we've been in Thailand for a week. He wants me to get a tourist visa for the month April to May 2011 if possible. My question are:

    1. When is the right time to start processing the application for visit visa?
    2. Do you think we have a chance to be granted?

    Please guys help me... :-/

    Hi ana07cutiepie

As a start please look here:-

    http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/vi...heuk/visitors/

    http://www.vfs-uk-ph.com/index.aspx

A visit visa is not so easy to have granted jus now.
The most common reason for refusal it seems, is not providing sufficient evidence of having strong ties to Phils as a reason to return before visa expires.

Anyway take a look at the websites and then ask more questions is needed.

3 months in advance of your intended date of travel to the UK.

there is no reason for the embassy not to grant you a visa as long as you provided genuine documents and you dont plan to overstay here.

    goodluck

    Hello ana07cutiepie,

As rightfully mentioned by Terpe and sars_notd_virus above, the main focus for increasing your chances of getting a visitor visa approval (especially if the visit is being sponsored by the person living in the UK) is to prove that you WILL return to the Philippines.

For instance, you could state the completion of your studies as your reason to return.

Depending on which college / university you are going, you may be able to file a "Leave of Absence" at your Registrar, be mindful of the notice periods. You might also require the permission of your DEAN or professors to support this request - please check with your university.

Furthermore you can submit a "Certificate of Matriculation" to prove that you are currently studying at this specific university.

It might also be worth considering traveling during semestral / summer breaks to show that you do not want to interrupt your study schedule.

If you are involved in projects of any kind which requires to be submitted to get clearance from your professors, this may be worth mentioning also. I would suggest to request a letter from your professor (who is sponsoring your project - if you have any) to confirm this.

These are just some pointer for you. Good luck with your application.

    Regards,
    Daks

That's a most useful link you've posted - a few times now - Joe ... I wonder if we might witness a sudden upsurge in the number of successful applications for visitor visas as a result, eh?
