Was it the Russians who captured a boat load of Somalian pirates and let them go about 1000 nautical miles from land in a 2 foot dinghey with no oars? No one complained too much when it was later discovered they had all died.
I bet the Pirates will now be terrified when they see a Royal Navy Vessel approaching them
