The odds of being offered a palawan croc on your plate are slim to nil,its on the CITES list and is endangered as sin,even sea turtle eggs which I used to see almost daily in certain market-places arent as common as they used to be,but burmese python and halo(monitor lizard are eaten often here,had both too often to count)also been out in the rice paddies at night frogging,fried insects truthfully taste of the oil they are fried in,at least cockroaches and spiders do,also crickets,all carapace and chitin,no taste to speak of,balut isnt so bad,isnt so good either mind you.

The Thais eat insects,havent had them in Pinas,had cockroach,cricket,spider,ants-eggs etc in Thailand but the insects apart from the eggs really did just taste of dirty oilhad dog a few times here,also ering-siapao once

In the interests of research I went out today and ate crocodile steakI will post pics tomorrow when I can resize them,even had ostrich BBQ for an appetiser
I actually preferred the ostrich,the croc was quite chewy,not a palawan croc,looks like a nile croc or something,went to a breeding establishment,they also sold fried ostrich eggs,sunnyside-up for 500 pesos an egg

Well i ate crocodile meat this year while i was in davao and i made me feel uncomfortably hot. then my wife explained to me that that is what it does lol. im not sure if anyone else would agree but wow its a different kind of meat hahaa
