Where did you go to, apart from Manila?

That was my 5th time in the Phil's and the first time I've taken them, and even then I only took them because the health websites said there was a slight risk in Southern Palawan (which I was nowhere near). The Metro Manila, Cebu, Bohol areas are malaria free, so are others, but I couldn't tell you where without looking at the list on the health websites

Pampanga & Zambales and according to the nurses map, it was high risk. Maybe it's in the rainy season though. I hear mosquitoes like moisture.

They usually thrive in damp warm conditions, so are more noticeable near rain forests, rivers, lakes..etc and just after the wet season.

I've not been north of Manila yet, but hoping to sometime this year or next.

Hope you enjoyed it and had a great time with your lady

That's up to you. There's enough information on this forum, with other reliable links, for you to decide.
Travel insurance may not cover any claim resulting from a tropical disease where you have not had the recommended inoculations and/or taken the recommended medication.

That's useful to know. If I do decide to take them again I might take the expensive sort. Won't be taking both Avloclor & Proquanil again thats for sure.
