He then joined Charlton on Christmas Eve 2006 but the club were relegated from the Premier League later that season and after failing to get promotion in 2007-08, he left in November 2008.
Ashley is a dk, Houghton has done a decent job over the last year, they aren't in any danger of relegation at the moment, and he should have been given until the end of the seasonto show what he was capable of. My guess is they would have finished mid table, which is pretty good for a first season in the top flight.
