    Renewing Passport in London

Hi to all the lovely people here!!

I'm planning to renew my passport early next year before I'll apply for ILR.

Do you need an appointment for passport renewal or just walk-in will do?

Is there a place near Birmingham where I can renew my passport instead of going to London?

    Thanks..

    Advance Happy Christmas!!!

    Hello Rubix
I renewed my passport few months ago in London.. we just walked in and grab the ticket from the dispensing machine and wait for our number to be shown at the electronic display.

How long was the process? Do you need self address stamped envelope or it's on the spot result?

    Thanks a lot Lee Rose

You'll have to go to the desk once your number is called and hand in your application and documents, the woman will check it and tell you afterwards to pay the cashier (don't forget your receipt) . The cashier will tell you to go upstairs in the waiting room and wait for your name to be called for the biometric. Just took me an hour for the whole process of applying, but it depends really on how busy they are.
It took over 4 weeks to be proccessed, i received a call from them one afternoon telling me that my passport was ready to collect.. Hope this helps
Don't worry its just easy, they are very friendly and helpful, just make sure you got your documents with you.. goodluck
